Nice chart too.

How does that compare to UK cost breakdown?

Isn't it more or less a reversal in the tax v crude cost breakdown for the UK?

Perhaps they should have addressed the taxation issue whilst the price was relatively cheap. Now they appear to be a bit stuck

We receive literally hundreds of letters from UK drivers furious about the cost of fuel in Britain so we've come up with an idea that can change the situation. Here's an indication of what consumers in the UK pay (varies almost daily except for the percentage of tax):

Cost per litre of crude oil extraction: 8p

Cost per litre of refining: 2p

Cost per litre to transport to UK: 2p

Cost per litre to transport to pumps: 5p

UK TAX @ 70%: 80-90p!

All the mericans go to mexico to fill up as its subsidized there.

Europe is better placed than america for high oil prices, but its the developing world that will really suffer imo as subsidies become unaffordable.

Ah, but who pays the subsidies? They do themselves. Might have something to do with why they are poorer.

Yes, if you want to retard your economy, get subsidising. Perhaps we could retard our own economy, I have an evil idea, its called SMI. This pernicious subsidy will help keep pensioners in large houses they cant afford, whilst young people will have to slave a bit more to pay for it all through their taxes. MwwwHaHa.
