Finding Out About Proposed Development Work In Area

Recommended Posts

Hi There,

I'm considering putting an offer on a house which has nothing but fields behind it.

Is there any way to find out if there are plans to develop that land, or if there any restrictions on it?

Thanks!

This is all part of the conveyancing process. You should receive this information as part of a council search

You can use planning finder to search the postcode and see a list of applications. Although sometimes I find this incomplete. An other way would be to visit the local council website and use the planning search facility. Although these are sometimes rather complex to navigate. This way you can view if any applications have been submitted and whether it was granted or refused. You can also see all the documentation relating to the application and the decision making process. This should give a good indication whether or not anything would be granted in the near to medium term future.
