David Cameron Blocks Gordon Brown As Head Of Imf

Recommended Posts

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/david-cameron/8460370/David-Cameron-blocks-Gordon-Brown-as-head-of-IMF.html

In a direct attack on the former Prime Minister, Mr Cameron said his predecessor was not the "most appropriate person" to lead the IMF because he would not admit the UK had a "debt problem".

Mr Brown is reportedly hoping to take on the £270,000-a-year role but he must first be nominated by the Government.

“If you have someone who didn’t think we had a debt problem (running the IMF) they may not be the best person to decide whether other countries have that problem," he said on BBC Radio 4's Today programme.

He added that the role needed to be filled by “someone who understands the dangers of excessive spending.”

The world can sleep a little easy now.

He's certainly stuck the boot in.

The "elites" would certainly be showing contempt for the masses putting that idiot in charge of something like the IMF.

"Bull takes over running of china shop" shocker.

what worries me, is that we know who the idiots are in the UK...what we DONT know is what foreign idiots actually GET the jobs.

Damn my cynicism, but I wonder if the initial story was 'placed' by the tory media machine to make osborne and cameron (who have both now ridiculed/blocked it) look good?

I'm only suprised Dave believes Brown 'may not be' suitable. Doesn't he know for certain?

Poor Old Gordon. A wife and two kids to support. What will he do next?

Possibly his day job, now that would be an idea. Representing the good folk of Kirkaldy....that most important constituency up in Scotland somewhere.

It just won't do for that "Colussus of Intelligence" "The Man who saved the World" to be picking his nose and eating his nails on the Back Benches at Westminster.

How the once "Mighty" have fallen to Earth.

What of Alistair ("LYING BXSTARD" Campbell), reduced to appearing on any TV or Radio Channel that will host him while he punts his lies, also known as a Diary.

Then there is that disgrace to Public Office, the fat obnoxious PIG also known as John Prescott, having the pxss taken out of him on Have I got News for You and Top Gear.

Expenses Cheat and worst Home Secretary ever, aka Jacqui Smith, presenting a programme on Porn. She is so stupid I bet she did not understand the irony.

Simpleton Bob Ainsworth, looking even more stupid if that is possible, also on HIGNFY.

Gap Toothed Caroline Flint...reduced to a talking shop on Question Time spouting the same old lies and bollxcks.

Have I missed any out?

Seems a shame - I could have done with a laugh... does anyone know how a particular person gets touted as a potential head? I can't help but wonder if this wasn't someone running rings around GB - it's certainly backfired in true broon fashion.

There's some fictional character he reminds me of with his constant ability to look like an inept twit every time he strives for 'statesmenlike'... arrggh, this is going to drive me mad...

That is how tribal politics works so I wouldn't be surprised.

It is also a happy co-incidence that the outlook for the US's sovereign debt has been downgraded due to their unwillingness or inability to get the situation under control. It makes the Coalition look good and the Millband / Balls / Krugman / Blanchflower cohort look a bit silly.

Shame

I was rather looking forward to Brown being forced to praise the UK for deficit reduction or more likely to be giving us a hard time for not reducing it quick enough.

Would really show his bum chum Balls up to be the complete f*ckwit that he is

David Millband appointed to the board of Sunderland and they have not won a game from that point on and are in the relegation battle.

Geoff Hoon banned from entering the House of Commons for touting his contacts.

Mandleson is now an investment bankster at Lazards.

Tony Blair to bring peace to the middle east, well that is going spiffing, perfect multikulti harmony at the mo.
