Rockabox Media are looking for genuine first time buyers with an interesting story and finances already in place for a brand new, prime time property series. Whether you’re a couple or you’re going it alone; you’ve pooled your money with mates to get a mortgage or you’ve tapped the bank of Mum and Dad, we want to hear from you. From cool urban apartments to cute country cottages, house boats to barn conversions, we want to help you find your first home. We start filming in early May.

Somehow i get the feeling 'yeah it looks ok and i've got the deposit, but it's too bloody expensive' isn't the answer they'll be wanting..

If I went on this show I'd just look indecisive and annoying to EAs. Pulled out of one deal and in the process of buying off plan.

Not sure I'd make great television...

Last convo I had with a property builder went something like:

Me: "Is the price negotiable"

PB: "well, that depends on what you mean"

Me: "A lower price than advertised"

PB: "We have products which make the property more affordable"

Me: "So, the price isn't negotiable"

PB: "I don't understand the question"

Me: "It's too expensive, will you take less"

PB: "No, we don't do that"

I initiated the same conversation every week and got different answers! On average though it seemed to be "no". It's a sort of morbid curiosity.

Thinking of buying a mansion in some third world country rather than a 1 bedroom shoebox in UK.

sent them an email to sweeten their day:

Another property ramping show. Just what first time buyers need. Not.

Complicit in the property bubble and the consequent credit crunch for which we are now all paying, you lot march on regardless. Still, I suppose it keeps D grade 'celebs' off the streets, and the mortgage wolf from your own doors. Pull up the ladder, eh?

Why don't you think of a new tune instead of clinging to the hope that these programs will continue to prove popular? And don't say you are helping first time buyers. We all know these progs are as useful to first time buyers as cooking progs are to the great british public whose consumption of ready meals rises inexorably with every addition to the tv-cook schedule.

If you were honest you'd admit you are as wanting of ideas as FTBs are of funds. Another property porn prog? What a total fail.

Good email. ;)

I am surprised producers are still wanting to make these sort of shows. They must assume the viewing public are still in love with property ownership. Which they probably are. Makes you wonder though what it will take for the public to get sick of these property ramping shows.

Exactly, and they'd probably edit it so my ranting on vested interests, their detachment from economic reality and the coming collapse of house prices looked unreasonable and possibly borderline autistic...

Had another idea for those who wanna bait such class purveyors of quality telly. Feel free to steal it.

Tell 'em some c0ck 'n' bull story with human interest - eg, you are a squaddie who has lost a limb and now need somewhere to settle down with the muslim girl you rescued from an arraged marriage in Helmand province. They'll love that. Reel 'em in further with tales of how you've scraped together funds from the Help for Heros charity. Then describe your dream property. By this time they'll be creaming themselves. Then tell them your desired location:

"Fukushima prefecture; get the camera crew and micro-celeb on location right away. I'll be along shortly. Honest."

I notice Beeney has jumped ship from HMS Ramper as property careens towards the rocks, and has gone into the 'vermin is good telly' arena.

She fronts Help, My House Is Infested! starting tonight on C4. She's up to her ample chest in bedbugs, rats, foxes, moths, crabs and god knows what else.

Imagine buying a set of Krusty's signature cushions, then having to get Beeney in because they were infested with silverfish...

I might do this. I'm sure we've got a story they will love. The family kicked out thier house just as new baby born...want to buy to give family security, yada, yada. We have finance in place, just not enough for what we need, and will also fail to tell 'em we're stuck for another 6 months with new rental contract! Bring out the problems with renting! And why buy to let landlords are the scum of the earth!

Supernanny with Gary Glitter? Call my Bluff with Tony Blair?

EDit - question mark.
