It's interesting how many that argue against the gold standard (personally I'm neither here nor there - as long as gold is a tradeable commodity I am happy), say that it leads to the rich getting all the money and the poor getting none. Yet as more and more years go by since the gold standard was repealed throughout the 20th century (in different places at different times), it seem the rich are actually getting richer and the poor poorer in this purely fiat environment.
