Kurt Barlow
I've only flown Qatar once, but agree entirely with the above. Planes and food OK and everything reasonably punctual, but DOH is a hole. The seats in the waiting area carefully designed so as to make it impossible to sleep on them being another grouse, not to mention the half-hour bus journeys between the terminal and the plane. The other problem I find with Qatar is it tends to attract large numbers of south asians most of whom seem to have terrible BO and screaming kids. Not nice for an 8 hour flight. I take some valium and vicks vapor rub with me
Stay Beautiful
The Toilets next to the Mosque? Dammam - Doha is pretty horrible. The way they herd you at Doha is somewhat like the queue for the showers at Treblinka. However they are cheap, with relatively short transfer delays when flying from the Middle east to Europe. Yes those toilets. A smile is as rare as hens teeth in that airport
worzel
I have used them numerous times, and no doubt will be forced to again at some point. The premium I attached to not flaying with them over and above someone else is about £100 all other things being equal. Its stressful not knowing which technicality they may try and pull you up on, and they seem to take pleasure in treating with you contempt. I once asked for a cup of tap water, I was told that there is no tap, this is an aeroplane.
ccc
I have had no problems with them at all. Read all the details and follow the plan and you should have few issues. Wouldn't fancy a 24 hour flight to Oz with them mind. However for 2 hours here and there they are fine.
ken_ichikawa
Thanks for your input, however I've resolved my little issue and therefore no longer have any requirement to travel out there. Instead the bloke out there is coming over here instead and he's going to be the one taking the ryan air flight

Rare Bear
To be honest, the most unpleasant part of any short haul flight is the airport.

cashinmattress
Meh. What do you people want. Cheap cheap travel equates to almost no amenities or freebies. Just a cattle cart that gets you to where you want to be, cheap. I use Ryanair and have no complaints. Get over it, or fly BA.

Ryan air isn't that cheap actually it works out about the same price once all the charges are factored in. The major problem initially was that I didn't want to fly to an airport 100+ miles away or spend 30 hours riding there either.
Saver
Is Ryan air as bad as people say? Note I am one of those people who fall asleep instantly the moment I get onboard thus never need to use the toilet buy any kind of sustinence but will be carrying 15kilos luggage checked into the hold. In that they are the ONLY airline which flies to the obscure location I want to be flying to direct. 3 Hour flight. Other airlines fly indirect with 15 hour waiting transit times in obscure locations too. Else it is flying to an airport 112 or 130 miles away hiring a car which costs £250. I don't fancy the outside alternative, i.e. riding down on the motorbike which I've estimated as £170 in petrol each way (1500 miles) + £13 ferry. But I save on the car rental costs. A train ticket costs about £1000. your thoughts? Thanks ryan air is bad as they say. Easyjet flights cost similar I think and the staff are nicer and the seats comfier. I only use ryan air if no other plane option exists.
19 year mortgage 8itch
I've only taken 3 trips with Ryanair, is this abnormal? (2 of them were to Dublin)
