Thunderbird 900
Have the IMF taken leave of their senses? Do they not understand how incompetent, idiotic and financially naive Gordon Brown is? Throw in his personality disorders, his weird behaviour and above all his complete denial of any mistakes or bad decisions. I would not put Gordon Brown in charge of a chimps tea party. Read on... "Gordon Brown is emerging as the favourite to become the next managing director of the International Monetary Fund. The former Prime Minister is in the U.S. as finance ministers from around the world gather for a series of spring meetings." "If Mr Brown were to become managing director of the IMF he would be entitled to an annual tax free salary of more than £270,000 a year. In addition he would enjoy a limousine and driver, the right to first class travel and automatic membership of the IMF's country club in Virginia. Mr Brown is likely to face opposition from the Coalition as George Osborne is known to blame him for the current Government's terrible economic and fiscal inheritance." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1376712/Brown-clear-favourite-head-IMF-Osborne-fight-stop-him.html
GordonBrownSpentMyFuture
Brown 'clear favourite' to be next head of IMF but will Osborne fight to stop him?By Alex Brummer Last updated at 1:39 AM on 14th April 2011 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Gordon Brown is emerging as the favourite to become the next managing director of the International Monetary Fund. The former prime minister is in the U.S. as finance ministers from around the world gather for a series of spring meetings. And he has been pushing his case on American television. ‘Brown is the obvious candidate,’ a source said last night. This piece of "news" is surely 13 days too late! I hope. 'Bart'
No real surprise. Brown gets his reward for "doing the right thing" just like Blair and Major (Carlyle Group) before him. Doubtless the Boy Cameron will be rewarded in due course (as long as he does what's required of him). Jesus Hussain Christ in the US will be similarly rewarded. Frank Hovis
I am sure there are plenty of more unsuitable people that they could pick for the job, several of the families featured on the Scrimpers TV show perhaps or any Come Dine with Me contestant, but he is at least the most high profile. thecrashingisles
They clearly have a keen sense of humour and relish the prospect of making Brown warn against the evils of too much state debt and forcing austerity measures on profligate nations. 200p
He made speeches about "New World Order" (Daily Mail "lost his Marbles", headline), so clearly that paid off.
OnlyMe
In order to create a new financial world order first you destroy the old one. Bringing the strongest (and most stable democracies) to their knees is the only way to push them over the rubicon and get the population to accept it. It also helps if you dilute/destroy the the cultural identity of those countries whilst you are at it. Once you have done this you can get away with all sorts of shit like charging whole populations with the air that the breathe. Of course the above is just conspiracy claptrap. interestrateripoff
I think I'd prefer Madoff. Or what about that canoe bloke who went off to Panama? What about Gaddafi he needs a reason to leave Libya what about him saving the world fron financial meltdown?

Eminently sensible in hindsight, so definitely not a top pick.

Rupert The
His recent statement about not realizing how interconnected things were makes sense now. Years of denying that any of this mess was his responsibility & then a short half-admission that he might not have got everything right when there's the chance of a fat salary & (more importantly to him) the chance to ponce about on the world stage again. He's clearly trying to draw a line under the past & even he is smart enough to know that the "It started in America" line isn't the best way to get the power & status that he so desperately craves. tw@ Edited April 14, 2011 by Rupert The
Bloo Loo
Actually, you NEED a bankrupt who has the experience of losing everything at the top of the IMF. He will understand, personally, what it means to be in so much debt there is no way forward. He will have tried to borrow his way through, and failed. He will understand default is inevitable. we dont need talking heads like Brown..we dont need "bankrupts" like Bovey who lost little. The people that need this type are people who thrive on make beleive. And as the IMF is a bank, make beleive is what they will choose.
