Overturning The Expectations Culture

Recommended Posts

Had a conversation with my sister today about the 9k student fees. I said it was a very silly way of discouraging people from uni in an effort to keep costs down, when they should just given grants to those with great A level results and nowt for the rest (even loans).

My sister said, and I quote "Restricting university in that way is discriminatory". After I stopped fainting, I said "So you think that stupid people have as much right to go to University as the brightest and best?"

It actually confused her. She changed the topic.

She is a strictly middle class, tory voter. God help us if the groupthink has gone that far in.

the middle class groupthink is that they should restrict university to the rich - those that can afford the time off, and make the poor pay thru taxes
