The Knimbies who say No

Small Anecdotal Re: Mew Etc

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Was talking to a friend I bumped into the other day. Got chatting and he started to talk about a member of his family who is always skint and badgering others for money for this and that. The relative is recently married, in his thirties and they seem to spend everything he has and more. Nothing unusual there. However, the guy has an inherited property elsewhere in the country(a decent suburban area), which he doesn't seem to wish to move to or sell or rent out for less than it's 'worth' so has spurned some rental offers and funded his profligacy by regular MEW on the inheritance. Apparently it's not far off MEWed to the hilt now, which takes some doing and with mortgage/council tax arrears piling up, it's basically a repo in the making. Friend is perfectly sensible and has given up pulling his hair out over it (they do not live close to each other so only gets updates now and again)

How to snatch a poverty-stricken retirement from the jaws of an easy life. What an absolute f*ckwit!

Very common occurence. Lots of variations on the same theme too. Hear about things like this all the time.
