Ash4781
Just from journalism viewpoint Carpetright have issued a profit warning again. Profits for year look to be in range around 2009 levels now so quite a drop on 2010. Well dont all pile in! Seriously though low transactions are a problem. Not sure if there are margin problems too without reading the full update.

IIRC someone on here said that their profits don't come from carpets, but from the huge property portfolio of their premises. Can't see any problem there... Always steer clear of boards with politicians present, even if they were not politicians when they joined the board. Disaster in the making. Democorruptcy
Next have a few with profit warnings in their comaprison group The comparator group of companies for the three year performance period to January 2010 was as follows: Alliance Boots Findel Kesa N Brown Burberry French Connection Kingfisher Signet Carpetright Home Retail Group Marks & Spencer Tesco Carphone Warehouse JJB Sports Morrisons W H Smith Debenhams J Sainsbury Mothercare Woolworths DSG It must have been annoying to have to take Woolworths out but every cloud has a silver lining HMV and Halfords!! For periods ending January 2011 onwards Alliance Boots has been removed from the comparator group. For periods ending January 2012 onwards ASOS, HMV and Halfords have been added to the comparator group and Woolworths has been removed. http://www.nextplc.co.uk/nextplc/financialinfo/reportsresults/2009/jan10/jan10-c.pdf Edited April 7, 2011 by Redhat Sly
