Bbc Push Foreign Property All Week

Recommended Posts

Domininc an FTB has bought in Montpellier, France:

"I missed the property boom in the UK so I thought I'd try here in Montpellier."

Owners need to give tenants 6 months notice... Dominic is looking for a pre-let and finds one, which he buys (98k euros):

"I knocked on the door and the tenant is in but unfortunately she won't let me in , such are the rights of tenants in France, they have rather a lot."

"I've left my job and am going travelling,"

Well why not now you are a wealthy property investor / LL?

"... so this is ideal because I wanted something that will look after itself"

Ever heard of cash? Ever heard of shares? Ever heard of commodities? Ever heard of precious metals?

Yeah that was shocking. I suppose he borrowed the money in euros (to take advantage of the super low interest rate!) and has now exposed himself to the whim of the foreign exchange markets. Woohoo. Not. Wonder how the bankruptcy laws in France work?
