cashinmattress
What middle class? Either you've got money and do your best to hide it, or you have none and borrow it to look like you've got it.

mikthe20
Now. I am ready - have removed any hard objects from within reach in order to preserve the life of the TV - expect some ******witery from the Labour guy and one or two members of the audience. Pauly_Boy
Yeah said falling houses prices are impacting the middle classes, holy smoke! Now old person is stating she has to fill her car up with patrol, who would have thought!
exiges
Shame the Labour guy constantly calling it a "recession brought about by the banking crisis" is going uncorrected by the Tory guy.
maxdiver
this is one of the few shows I'm missing a bit after getting rid of the TV and licence. unfortuntely, it only goes towards manufacturing consent.
Goat
Shame the Labour guy constantly calling it a "recession brought about by the banking crisis" is going uncorrected by the Tory guy. Yep, that's driving me nuts as well. Although actually what he said was "deficit brought about by the banking crisis" (and not by budgeting to borrow £60bn at the height of a huge credit bubble). Ususal collection of audience members forgetting who's been in charge for the last 13 years.
Pauly_Boy
Oh Jesus Christ, this audience is full of idiots! They are prime examples of why this country is a mess and don't understand anything. One bloke even blamed the Tories for not being able to afford a house, could he afford one 9 months ago?? David willets isn't doing bad considering he's being lynched! "we're waking up from a dream", fantastic line!
mikthe20
Shame the Labour guy constantly calling it a "recession brought about by the banking crisis" is going uncorrected by the Tory guy. He got there eventually: David Willets: "What we are dealing with are the consequences of a 10-year house price boom...and living beyond our means". Edit: they still shy away from using the "bubble" word though. Edited March 15, 2011 by mikthe20
Sledgehead
David Willetts looking straight down the barrel of the camera and telling it like it is wrt property. Can anyone be in any doubt that the Tories get it? Next time somebody trys to tell you a house is worth more than you think, you at least have a decent quote : "We're all waking up to the reality that our houses aren't worth what we thought they were." I guess train driving is a middle class profession now as well. My broad definitions: Working class: factory workers, untrained, unskilled, bin men postmen, manual workers. (Actually the majority in this country). Middle class: Senior Managers, professions such as legal, medical Upper class: Landowners, aristocracy. The Fulfords!
