Understanding A Land Registry Property Register

Recommended Posts

I've done a land registry check on a property I'm interested in, but I don't understand what it says, or rather, am I reading too much into it.

Why would the sale of the house require authorisation from the court. Or is it standard terminology for joint ownership.

Does it also look like the buyer then took a loan out on the property in 2008 ?

Title absolute

1 - October 2007 { mortgage holder details }

2 - October 2007 { purchase price details }

3 - October 2007 : RESTRICTION: No disposition by a sole proprietor of the registered estate (except a trust corporation) under which

capital money arises is to be registered unless authorised by an order of the court.

Charges Register

This register contains any charges and other matters that affect the land.

1 - May 2008 - REGISTERED CHARGE dated 30 January 2008.

2 - May 2008 - Proprietor: BANK OF SCOTLAND PLC (Scot. Co. Regn. No.SC327000) of Halifax Division, 1 Lovell Park Road, Leeds LS1 1NS

The owners are tenants in common rather than joint tenants - there are many potential reasons for this. The date for the second part is irrelevant.

Sorry to hijack, I also have a question...

I have a Register document for a property, last item says the address for service has changed, however the new address is not listed.

How do I get the address to serve?

They would have over typed the address in that the new address would be the only address shown.
