German Defence Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg has stepped down after he was found to have copied large parts of his university doctorate. Mr Guttenberg, considered until recently a possible candidate for chancellor, has already been stripped of his PhD. He told a news conference he was resigning from all political offices. More than 20,000 German academics wrote to Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday complaining he was still in his job. But Ms Merkel had continued to stand by him , with her party facing three state elections later this month. "I thank the chancellor for her support but I have reached the limits of my strength," he told reporters in Berlin. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-12608083 Okay, it's a little off-topic, but I mean really, the sheer nerve of some of these politicians. Seems like there's nothing they won't do.
Bloo Loo
There was a similar article on BBC news this morning reporting that Gaddaffi's son did the same at the LSE. And that his paper was 'marked'/overseen by Labour chappie Lord Desai.... http://roarmagazine....plagiarism-phd/ the questions all loved him, but were pigs deserving to be shot. interestrateripoff
In a sense most of academia is about rewriting someone's work, he should have edited it better.
happy_renting
Unlike the last UK government, that plagiarises an entire 1991 University dissertation on Iraq and releases it as a 2002 UK 'intelligence report'. The other 'dodgy dossier'.
