'Bart'
CI Silver bullion sent me an email about their new stock of 1 oz copper Lakotas. LINK Any thoughts?
Normski
You can buy exactly the same deal for £6.16 (plus £2.81 P&P) from eBay. Delivery from the U.S. Not entirely sure what happens if customs decide to check what's in the jiffy bag, but I've had no worries with metal through the post. You'll need a few hundred of these to make it worth your while, though. And then the customs man may want to be your friend. Get a few for a bit of interest. You'll make a couple of quid resale on eBay for UK buyers.

gasket37
Any thoughts? yes - when i got that i thought "that's from sarnia/c i silver and is therefore bound to be poor value"... ...and it looks as if i was right. honestly i think they've lost the plot - since the "old <£18 avoid the VAT scam" has negated their market i think they are a bit pointless now. i haven't used them for ages. still - it was great while it lasted... Quiet Guy
Any thoughts? Copper is an industrial metal only. Considering the overall global economic situation, I'd place more money on copper dropping than rising in the short term. Silver seems much simpler and more promising. And where do you expect to sell copper rounds? (eBay does not count for me.) Normski's comment is also interesting. I also received the email; I wasn't interested. 'Bart'
Thanks for the replies guys. On eBay I found a pound of copper for less than the 5 oz that CI Silver were selling. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-Pound-999-Fine-Copper-Bullion-Bar-Great-investment-/230583537924?pt=UK_Coins_Bullion_Bars_SM&hash=item35afd99104 I wonder if copper is worth a long term punt (say 5-10 years)? Of course, selling it isn't as straightforward as gold or silver. EDIT: 1 kilo for £36. http://buycopper.co.uk/one%20kilo%20bar.html
azogar
i don't get buying freshly minted copper bullion, if you are buying them as a play on copper, just buy old pennies in bulk- far far cheaper
newbonic
Thanks for the replies guys. ..... EDIT: 1 kilo for £36. http://buycopper.co....kilo%20bar.html Copper's about £7kg in bulk isn't it? Seems like a huge mark up for nice shiny billets.
