The Masked Tulip
http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/11162552 According to Zoopla it last sold in 2006 for £430,000 but now has an asking price of over a million. Addmitedly, to be fair, the aerial map view shows an image of the house with the roof being replaced so the buyers of 2006 may well have gutted it, modernised it completely and done a good job but... does that justify such an asking price today? erranta
Explains everything now. Bet you could get any of these with 50% knocked off asking price just for expressing an interest! http://www.premierpr...land.com/?cat=5 Early-mid 90's - Have great memories of staying in mansions & castles for £18.00 per double room inc full breakfast for two (a couple we got silver service waitress service for breakfast - which was ridiculous!) on the Irish tourism B&B 'carnet' scheme! Pauly_Boy
leave it for a year - you'll be able to buy the whole of Wales for just under 1m by then... That made me seriously laugh, thanks The house seems a little confused between styles and the kitchen is ruined by the giant SMEG fridge. Still you can buy similar in the home counties so I have no idea how it's worth that much, not unless some council worker gets a juice redundency package. You could live in the fridge and rent the rest out. Ideal for the Brrr To Let investor.

The Masked Tulip
When the last bear turns bull I think you take me too seriously sir. I do not have a million quid and if I did I would not spend it on a house.

Looked at the road on Google Maps. It is a good road. There are a lot like this round us in Northumberland. 19th Century were run down at the turn of the millenium but the massive boom made the optimistic throw the cash at them to restore them to their glory. However, if the developers didn't get them away in 2007 or the fake recovery in 2009 they are not going to realise the profit now. My prediction - 800k to either either local professional such as medic or lawyer or someone returning from London after making good.

ScaredEitherWay
It looked to me like the bit on the left and the right were new, so I had a quick look and it was more than doubled in size. And was a prize winner. http://www.swansea.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=21695 The respective winners and buildings highly commended for their excellence in each category were as follows: * Domestic Extension and Alterations: Winner- 31 Mayals Road, Blackpill So those aren't just sticks in a vase .... they're award winning sticks If you read the HIP, since 2006 it's been rewired and new central heating fitted. Additions were extra bedrooms, extra bathrooms, double garage added, new roof, rewired, new floors, new plumbing. And it's listed so they got their approval for everything too. HIP also states: Major renovation, new wooded windows/doors, replaced windows in line with Conservation Officer's advice. Is it worth a million? Who knows/probably not... but it does look like a doubling in size and major re-fit went on.

Has a decent sized garden at the front and overlooks Swansea Bay. Infact, it's 500 yds from the sea-shore, but the Mayals Road is a very busy road accommodating most of the Gower traffic. Will probably go ,as a second home, to some London-based Celt with more money than sense. Biggest drawback is that Bonny Tyler is an occasional neighbour (anyone remember her ...woof woof). Me thinks maybe points to cut backs at the Uni as most of my profs lived near Mayals Rd 2) Wait. Then wait some more. Price will fall 3)I dont think a seasoned campaigner like yourself would be so naive as to publicise a prospectve purchase so publicly and shoot all possible room for negotiation.
