Time To Short Countrywide

Recommended Posts

Anyone got a tip for an easy service to short a single share, one-off ?

Reading that one of the last reasons the price has stayed up is that it has been supported by American investors (who lag us by ? 6-9 months ?) I think the time has come for sure...

not sure how to short a single share,

but I thought that a major reason for a demand in Countrywide was their share in Rightmove.

Shares in Countrywide in effect proxy shares in Rightmove, and a way of investing prior to its flotation.

Whether Rightmove would be a sound investment is of course questionable.

They're being kept afloat on M&A rumours, nothing to do with their performance (obviously!)

A spredbetting account will let you do it, i.e igindex

they are out as far as june 2006 sell at 390.

thanks for the quote. Looks like the futures market (ignoring spread) is predicting a whopping 2.6 % return on your money over 9 months - somewhat less than a savings account... the dividend better be good.

Oh no, hang on...

will explore further. Anyone shorted already (I think some people did a few months ago) ?
