I caught this on the way into work this morning. Peter Owen Jones lives up the road & i often see him in Brighton or Lewes, I love his programmes. The subject was treated fairly though on R4 I thought, they had a bit of a jest and all parties including the very broad minded vicar, gave it all the (lack of) seriousness it deserved. Britney's Piers
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. " 2 Timothy 3 Edited February 15, 2011 by Britney's Piers

I listened to it this morning and was quite shocked how they treated this dangerous and mighty heavy subject ('devil is on our side', etc... ). Pure satanism if you ask me promoted on the public radio. But I guess in the UK AD 2011 everything is debatable as there are no sacred and established values anymore (free for all). Expect more and more of that as the country is becomoning full of know-it-all materialists, hedonists and nihilists.

Give that the royal family and all the other members of the so called 'Elite' are all satanists, I'm not surprised satanism (egoism, love of money, etc..) is effectly promoted everywhere, even on the BBC. Luvvies are almost exclusively satanistic in their values, it's easily confused with boring old champagne socialism to the untrained eye. Egotism is basically an entry requirement. Far greater evil has been caused by men of 'god' than by men of 'the devil'. There you go - you contradict yourself. As you say yourself, they must have been the men of evil (as they caused evil). Waving the 'god standard' doesn't stop people from working for the devil. It's actually quite common.
Pole
That depends on how you define sanity. To most people sanity means; keep calm and carry on, don't think for yourself and never ever ever challenge the official propaganda channels (BBC).

It's perfectly easy to see situations where someone religeous does something "evil" that is not in contradiction with their religeon (it may actually promote it). This is drivel, actions speak clearly for themselves, words don't count and religions have nothing to do with good or evil (especially since most religions have long been corrupted by evil forces). ccc
Good ? Evil ? Devil ? Bad ? We are all the tiniest little morsels of dust, on a slightly larger morsel of dust - amongst a Universe so big none of us will probably ever really be ever to contemplate it. The sooner a person accepts this the better IMO. Life is just SO much more fun and enjoyable.

Guest sillybear2
People generally do nasty things to each other because they can, the "banality of evil" and all that. Then later on they layer all kinds of righteous self-justifying reasoning in order make it mesh with their "value system".

The Eagle
Isn't that what I said? That's not what I understood, apologies if I misunderstood you. I have one rule - treat others how you would want to be treated. That's an excellent rule, it's not completely fool-proof but if everyone followed it the world would already be a far better place. Edited to add: that's why I will probably never be rich. But if you really keep to that rule you will never be starving and/or homeless either, since you will always have friends who will be happy to help you when you need help. What's better: to be rich but hated/envied, or to be be poor and loved?
