So many falsehoods here I no not where to begin.

Labour up to their old tricks

People looking to get on the housing ladder may be denied by a Government which doesn’t understand aspiration - Seabeck

Alison Seabeck

Alison Seabeck MP, Labour’s Shadow Housing Minister, commenting on the Affordable Homes Programme announced today, said:

“That the Tory-led Government wants the right to kick social housing tenants out of their homes if they get a pay rise shows they just don’t get aspiration.

“It can’t be fair that people who work hard and play by the rules are being told they may lose their home if they get a new job or get promoted at work.

“At the same time, the Tory-led Government wants to hike up rents for many new social housing tenants by thousands of pounds a year, to cover for their cuts in funding for new house building.

“Their new proposals not to cap higher rent levels at the same level as housing benefit caps could see social rents in London more than treble - but even that won’t fund the extra homes needed.

“Those looking to get a foot on the housing ladder are in danger of being denied by a Government which doesn’t understand aspiration and which is presiding over a collapse in new house building.”

Ohhhh it makes me so angry.

Most of these feckers have no idea what their party has done to ‘aspiration’ during its years in power. The same collective of spanners that do not understand the difference between defecit and debt and what those figures are. Careerist*****ers.

Probably a good job for her there is no ability to leave comments. Twohats.

Aspiration = A nouveau leftist fallacy used to promote the socialisation and social acceptance of obtaining vast amounts of unservicable debts in order to maintain an illusion that you really aren't a low paid serf of the state meatgrinder.

And labour spent the last 13yrs falling over themselves to help FTBs!

The biggest housing bubble in history has screwed the nation and they did everything possible to encourage it. For once, it'd actually like to see labour come up with ideas rather than just criticise, you can fit all there current policies on a blank sweet wrapper!

Tory-led Government

Tory-led Government

Tory-led Government

Theyre like a stuck record arent they. They know even with the leftist media going on and on about non existent cuts, they still wont get an absolute majority and will have to beg the Libdems to come on board with them next election. Dont want to marginalise the libdems.

Anyway. All this mortgage BS is disingenuous anyway. Forget the credit crunch. FTB no's fell before all that. From 600k in 1999/00 to 300k in 2006/7. Liebour managed to halve the amount of FTBs even when Gordons 'light touch' regulation meant banks giving out 120% mortgages.

May I say, you have an articulate, if not beautiful way with words. I salute you. :)

Labour Still Don't Get It - Do you seriously believe they ever will?!?

I live in hope... it shouldn't be hard. Don't rely on deficit spending, and explain properly what you're doing and why*.

* this has the double advantage that if you're forced to explain properly what the tax is being spent on, you have to have sensible policies.

If shed wrote it in the town i grew up in it should say.We made sure by robbing pensions people decided instead to buy up streets of £30k terrace houses in northern towns and then rent them out to the hundreds of immigrants we let in so the BTLers could have the houses to themselves because all FTB will be on NMW forever now,and then think far better not to bother so we can direct £440 a month local housing allowance direct to the homeowners er BTLers.

We understand inspiration. We screw our working class voters for the Tory BTLers. Its the third way.

I hate the labour party. I just want to kick my tv in every time one of these lying scumbags comes on, even more when they refer to "the people" like they get it. Why would anyone vote for that dopey twohat anyway, he's even more of an imbecile than brown.

He always sounds like he's got a gallon of phlegm in his throat when he speaks.

Alison Seabeck MP, Labour’s Shadow Housing Minister,

Any news yet on Seabeck's investigation?

"In December 2010 it was revealed that Seabeck was under investigation by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards in relation to declaration of member's interests"

Seabeck's register of interests include

Parliamentary consultant to the Institution of Structural Engineers

Donations to my constituency party from Mr Stef Stefanou, a family friend and Managing Director of John Doyle Construction.

She is (or was) the partner of MP Nick Raynsford, he has so many property mentions on his register of interests I cannot be bothered listing them:

Nail on head.

They are the most shameless bunch of myopic liars ever to involve themselves in politics.

It scares me how many in this country just cant see what has happened in 14 years.

We are a burning Zeppelin crashing to earth.

Brown must be pissing himself laughing at Cameron.

Not that Cameron has any phucking balls.

That was Blair, wasn't it?

See, someone gets it. We had 15 years of Tory rule under the guise of new-labour, and now everyone is cheering because the tories are in charge.

We've had 30 years of tory government. Another 4 years isn't going to help, we are just going to see an even bigger transfer of wealth from the poor to the very rich. The tories may even be able to pull off the big coup, and arrange the final transfer back to a complete land owning gentry and surf population.

They are the tories, that's what they do.

That's not true. The parties' policies are quite clear and distinct.

Labour: Debt = Wealth

Tory: Cuts = Growth

The fact that neither make anything resembling sense does not mean that they are the same thing.

Lying barstewards, most of em, just wondering how many will end up in prison?

They are not even half convincing liars (Blair and Brown were masters of being 'economical with the truth', and now Ed Milli, Ball's and his Mrs are equally as good liar's as the old guard).

They did nothing to make housing affordable for our youngsters, with flipping properties, BTL portfolio's etc. etc.

Our younger generations have been ignored since 1997, and nothing that they say now will alter their sad record.

The only honest one was the chap who put a note on his desk saying "no money left".

well I have read that article and I have to say, I don't know what the fuss is about.

I can see what she means, but she is highlighting a real problem which is the benefits trap.

I don't have the answer.

Social housing should be for those in need, but how do you persuade them to fend for themselves when it's a lot harder for little reward.

ah, well yes absolutely.

I still have trouble labelling labour as the housing bubble creators, but they did. I am so used to the tories doing it.

Labour are scum. They rely on thick people for votes and tailor their policies and arguments accordingly.

What gets me is that your average working class person who votes Labour is not actually left wing at all - I was born in Sheffield (the Republic of South Yorkshire) so I know what I'm talking about here (and my old man is one of these people).

If you ask your average working class voter their opinion on individual issues you invariably get a response that you'd expect from a right-winger. Immigration is the classic example.

Labour somehow gets away with purporting to represent "the working man", when in reality they have betrayed the working class. Remember Brown's "British jobs for British workers" quote that they quickly rowed back on?

Labour really represent a tiny minority of luvvie liberals that live here in London. Tory values are far more representative of the working class, but they are scarred with the perception (and admittedly sometimes reality) that they do what's best for the rich.

I despair of British politics.

They are evil or stupid, it's that simple.

That is our most recurrent question.

Though in the case of Brown there was a few more possibilities:

Insanity?

Qualifications? (He admitted in his book his shortcomings in economics. His degree was History.)

Medication?

Culture? (19th Century small town vicar, patronising, "charity", leader know best?)

Any other possibility?
