New EU rescue fund to be worth 500 billion euros - report
13:16, Saturday 12 February 2011
BERLIN (Reuters) - A new permanent rescue mechanism for the euro zone from 2013 should have a volume of 500 billion euros according to plans from the European Commission, German news magazine Der Spiegel reported on Saturday.

Small drop for a very large black hole IMO. Equivalent to $685BN which is only $85BN more than the US rescue fund (QE2). Its a start but I suspect the number will need to be tripled before the troubles are finally over.

The sum total of all these bailouts and rescue packages must now surely be higher than the sum total of all the toxic assets they were supposed to be saving.

Still all we need is another bailout and I'm sure it will all be contained.

When does the crack-up boom start?

Britain has committed to supporting Euro bail out mechanisms until 2013. I wonder if we'll still somehow end up paying for this.
