Public Sector 'madoff Pensions'

Yet again someone looking at the pensions of the civil service, and finding that they are costly and unfair.

And yet again, no one in power will do anything about it.

No one seems to be able to grasp the nettle, and cut the payouts, not just for future pensioners, but for those claiming now. It is only fair that existing pensioners take a cut to their entitlements too, the more the pain is shared the less that it will be.

Whatever happens, the young are going to be carrying most of the burden for this. I am expecting a change in the retirement age to be raised to 68 by 2025, perhaps sooner. That will help, but again it removes any affect on those retired already, and I dont see why they should escape any pain. They too, should be in it together.
