The Masked Tulip
Just doing a browse of Swansea properties and noticed this: http://www.globrix.com/property-details/29281984-west_cliff-southgate-sa3-3_bed-bungalow I was talking to an estate agent last week who told me that anything over 350K was having trouble selling in the area and that over 400K you could forget it. Problem is, he said, that there are hundreds of properties in Swansea West and on the Gower with such asking prices. The problem is that lots of these properties have such ludicrous, IMPO, asking prices to begin with that dropping 200K or 300K still leaves them, IMPO, still well-over priced for what they ask. This also cropped up in the Mumbles this morning on RM: ** PRICE RANGE OF £550,000 - £650,000 http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32510885.html Hmm, should I offer 650K or not? I know the location and I feel knackered just thinking about it. Makes my chets go tight.

Riedquat
Makes me wonder what happened to a house down the road from where I live. It's been for sale for a while, drove past it on the way to work yesterday and the sign had changed to "Under offer", and on the way home it was back to "For Sale". That brightened the end to what had been a bad day (assuming that the "Under Offer" label hadn't simply fallen off). The downside is that my reluctant landlord now wants to try to sell again before it drops much further. I'm trying to persuade him that it never will at what he thinks it's worth, and the only result is that I'll move and he'll be without rental income. If he puts it up for sale get some HPCers to come round and view it then put in an offer 30% below asking
The Masked Tulip
Here's another 145K off on the Gower today. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-30888902.html As I posted yesterday, the problem is that although dropping by substantial amounts the asking prices are still, IMPO, way way above what anyone local can afford. Good grief. It started at £685k! You must have a lot of liar loans in your area.
