I did some calculations a couple of months back, with data from rightmove's website.

Anyway it showed me that house sales in my area (Herts.)were on track to be down by 58% this year !!

I think that some EA's probably are advising reductions, as they need a sale to make a living.

But vendors simply will not accept that the market has changed, they still think prices only go up.

I have a couple of freinds trying to sell at the moment with no joy.

One has been on the market for about four months, at what I consider to be peak price, it may have sold for that in early '04. But not now !!

The worst one though has been on the market 20 months now, and has been reduced by £155k yes £155000 from the original asking price recommended by the EA. Shows what EA's know eh !!

The mods seem to have given up now :D

Edit: Also, Franticks property prices thread is up to 11 pages now.

I looked at Monkey's new thread and saw this:

Has the market bottomed then Monkey?

Or was it pressure from the 'other half' that forced a purchase?

The chimp's lost it for sure.

Seeking solice with the C4 gimps has proved that beyond doubt.

He'll be asking for advice on how to successfully cultivate banana trees next.

Same FaTB as been lurking here for about the last year, and posting for a couple of months.

Have been trying to get a feel for the sentiment on other more moderate sites also including moneysaving expert.

You don't mind me quoting you, do you?

Only a couple of weeks ago, a thread like that would have been pulled by the mods wouldn't it? I wonder what changed their minds?

yes I've noticed the difference too.

however I suspect Frantick is a troll on C4,and most of the posts on that topic come from bears. The bears may be taliking amongst themselves but at least being on C4 forum it will get a bit of exposure.

anyone else posting on C4/homes(I am but under a different pseudonym)

Decca, susiecam etc hang out at "forum towers" now.

There was a link to it on Ch4 homes this morning, but it disappeared within minutes, so I guess their little clique does have influence over there.

Maybe they just got fed up of swimming against the tide? :P

I'm not revealing my alter-ego.

It's safe to say I'm not being too harsh on the little dears....not just yet!....I don't think they could take the pasting they are about to get,anyway....it's more fun to appear like one of the sheep, but gently steer them towards panic over the coming months.

Rightmove? Herts? 58% down?

Yep ! Thats the way I worked it out a couple of months ago.

This was assuming they sold the same amount of houses in Q3 & 4 as they did in Q1 & 2 and I would have thought that fairly unlikely.
