Mary Portas Gives Estates Agents A Marketing Makeover

Recommended Posts

According to the press release:

Those of a nervous disposition should be forewarned especially Simon Gerrard, boss of north London’s highly reputable Martyn Gerrard. He may want to stock up on sedatives. Judging by the blurb, he may have wished she’d done the usual telly thing and gone to Foxtons.

Estate agents are caught with their trousers down as they pull out all the oldest tricks in the house-selling book. Multiple viewings, misleading particulars and lack of specialist knowledge are among the long listed (especially on aspects - West is the new South).

But Mary wants to stop the rot as she persuades boss Simon Gerrard to let her loose on his sales team in a bid to make them more customer focused. But, before long, tensions rise as Mary realises that she and Simon have very different views on what good customer service really means.

Should be a good laugh and TV gold to watch these over-gelled bounders get rumbled as a shower of chancers.

I posted this on the main board last week when I saw it advertised. Looks like quite a laugh. Might help educate some potential FTBs about their evil tricks too.

am i werid for really looking forward to dealing with LA/EA's in the next couple of months, as i look for a place to rent.

i am going to really make them earn the money/fees from me, every detail of the contract(s) will be checked and rechecked, and then checked by a Solicitor (my Aunt works for a contract solicitor, her boss has asked to do this in return for some PC fixing/setting up) before it gets signed.

Every detail will be picked up on.

oh how im going to enjoy this.

and the programme too

It was shot around my way in N London and features the usual spiv, parasite EAs I have the misfortune to deal with now I am registered with them.

I fear I will put my foot through the screen if I watch the whole show, though...

Julian, Crispin, Sebastian, Parker, Tristan, Tarquin and all the other deluded cads would whole heartedly disagree with you on the competency of their overpaid private education to gain 2.2's and 3.0's Arts Degrees.

Their well honed skill sets have been further developed over many years to make fools easily part with their hard earned money for a quick buck of easy commission for over priced products.

High five guys all round. Nice.

bump

could posters please bump this thread if it goes over the page. Thanks - I think this program will cheer us up no end.

The wheels on the bus go round and round

Round and round, round and round

The wheels on the bus go round and......

Oh no another bloody pot hole

Bang Boom Bump

Peeps hopefully this programme will be a wake call to estate agents that they are rumbled to the masses as a bunch of chancers. This industry needs more transparency with tougher penalties and regulation. Truly the level of service they provide is deplorable to both vendors and purchasers alike.

Lets see how Martyn Gerrard stack against their mission statement of “Where Integrity Counts”

One of my greatest delights is to meet with people who bought their first home with us

and return to make their subsequent moves up the housing ladder.

It is that client loyalty over the past 47 years that I find most rewarding.

Martyn Gerrard MRICS FCIOB FNAEA Chairman & Founder

Channel 4 (9 pm) tonight.

Mary isn't god.

She may keep the plates whirling a bit longer and add some extra sales for the agency with her hard nose for business/customer sales leadership(see Gordon Ramsay shows). If the market is tanking and people are skint, no matter how hard you polish a turd, it's still a turd.

I'm going to miss it. I'll watch tomorrow on 4od. Hope it's good. I just want EAs to be shown as the lying thieving bastards that they are. (most are anyway)

oh, and MArtyn Gerrard is the agent I emailed three days ago to enquire about a property. Never got a reply.

Worthless parasites, the lot of them.

Why hasn't a property buy/sell website portal taken off all these years?!
