Obesity Problem Solved

Jeebus, it's not even regular.

I wonder if it even meets building regulations.

On the plus side, it would be easy to remove (while getting rid of those tiles and electric cable ducting to the switch).

Gosh, IMPO that is ugly.

Makes you wonder why they did it? I wonder if they wanted to knock 2 rooms into 1 making it open-plan but did not want to have to put new support beams/lintels in place?

Usually when you knock through you stick a massive metal reinforced concrete lintel or just a metal lintel as a support for the structure of both the rooms and the entire house.

That worries me looking at it.

Maybe it was regular when first done?

There is something odd about it. The cabling for the light switch goes along the ceiling and then down, indicating that the switch was once positioned beside a narrower doorway. If the tiling was done at the same time as The Orifice, why not bury the cable in the wall at the same time?
