Off topic, I know, but I have just gotten a scandalous renewal quote from Quinn Insurance of £1,180 on my bog standard banger saloon despite having my licence 4 years and having 3 years no claims bonus. Ridiculous figure consider I am in my late 20's too.

Where do you guys get your deals? I have looked a Hughes, who are coming in at £720, but surely I can do better than that? Suggestions people!

Have you tried one of the comparison sites?

Real mixture this year, some people getting 30% - 40% rises like you, others getting the best deal with barely an increase from their existing insurer.

I have my fingers crossed that I'm in the latter camp as I can't be bothered to change every year.

Axa came back with something much more competitive at £670, so I shall go with them. The Quinn quote was still scandalous - they're going to go out of business if they think people will pay what they're asking.
