Apologies if this is already on a thread but I can't find it.

I remember this being an episode where they had to cobble together a synthetic optimistic ending with the punters (sic) having spent far too much on far too little and without much proper planning or control. Sad really, I sometimes wonder if people would give up and get out rather than persevere if they weren't on telly.

That image is almost mythic. Dreamlike. It reminds me of this:

City levee with 'dodgy foundations' (misbuilt by US Corps of Engineers? ) = flooding/suffering/deaths in New Orleans. Their 'parades' were also stopped in their tracks!

I was in Southend today, unfortunatly not the sea front. I think that 'boat' was/is listed on rightmove.
