"EXCLUSIVE: Outrage at latest plans for 21,000 new homes in the county"

LATEST plans showing where thousands of new houses could be built around Northampton, Daventry and Towcester were published this morning, to the anger of many residents and politicians.

Nimby's should be renamed NUMPTIES.

years ago, not that many years ago, building houses to benefit future generations was seen as a good and decent act, and political partioes left and right competed with each other to provide decent housing so people could start families

it all went SOOOO wrong, *ssholes

To be fair, Northampton does seem to have borne the brunt of housebuilding over the last 10-15 years, despite tending to vote conservative/anti immigration

IMO the burden should fall on liebour and libdem councils to provide housing, its them that want mass immigration.

Realistically though, 20k homes over 20 years in Northampton, Daventry AND Towcester doesnt seem excessive.

Course, no new roads schools and so on will be built. Or jobs created for that matter.

I agree with that and the OP is being a little unkind. The scale of housebuilding around Northampton has been enormous, and indeed the town had its own Development Corporation. Its pretty hard to recognise the place now. At one time you drove through several miles of countryside to get the town from the M1, now the development has reach the motorway and many a pleasant village has been absorbed.
