ohn Leslie Prescott, Baron Prescott (born 31 May 1938) is a former Deputy Prime Minister and First Secretary of State of the United Kingdom. Born in Prestatyn, Wales, he represented Hull East as the Labour Member of Parliament between 1970 and 2010. In the 1994 leadership election he stood for both Leader and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, winning election to the latter office. He was appointed Deputy Prime Minister after Labour's victory in the 1997 election, with an expanded brief as Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions.

now i just saw him on tv doing a realy silly advert for comparethemarket.com

ffs this guy was a very important politician in this country not more than 2 years ago.

labour have no shame, none at all, i expect to see blair selling toothpaste on ukgold next and gordon brown selling dundee cake.

I saw it too. They have absolutely no shame. Cashing in on his "two jag" notoriety. No wonder our political class is regarded as a joke and will do anything for money.
