notMyName
Sheffield: £44,950 Linky Set in one of the most affluent areas of Sheffield, this recently burgled property comprises of missing boiler and other holes, where all that unwanted piping has been scrapp...recycled Interestingly, the description reads that an offer of 46k has been given, which is more than the current asking price?? I live a mile away, in a bad area, and this area is worse, but not quite as bad as the Manor, a few streets away from this property
AThirdWay
Concentrate on the Dundee area, and this is the cheapest - 0/0 £70k http://www.tspc.co.uk/details.asp?id=99540 Ex-council, and wooden construction. The neighbouring house is very interesting. They seem to have had a wooden house harled?!?!? Also see they've replaced the roof. Not sure of the cost of these things, but I think they're trying to put a shine on excrement! Cheapest non-council, £105k, but in the middle of a pretty crap council estate! http://www.tspc.co.uk/details.asp?id=96124 Most expensive, quarter of a mil. http://www.tspc.co.uk/details.asp?id=98527 . Odysseus
£260,000 in Tunnel Avenue, London SE10 http://www.rightmove...y-31116620.html Its on the approach road to the Blackwall Tunnel. Know that area quite well, used to live in Blackheath. How anyone can justify a property there for more than a quarter of a million of pounds is beyond me. The road noise will be non-stop and air quality must be on a par with Bejing in the summer.
Djini
£119,950 for a 2 bed semi in Burntout Burnthouse Lane, possibly the single most depressing shithole of a council estate in the universe (and there are some pretty mingin' ones around the Andromeda.) Burnt out cars, old sofas in the garden, piles of rubbish the residents can't be arsed to take to the skip. An utterly soul destroying place where those that live there have quite literally given up on life/washing themselves and require constant supervision by the State, be that the police and the court systems, social workers. Basically, your average Labour voters. I suggest carpet bombing the whole lot. During the day would be best as there will be more chance that they're home watching Kyle, In the evening they'll be out joyriding your car or knifing your Gran. I drove through there just before christmas & noted that it seems the poorer you are, the higher the necessity there is to cover the outside of your house with millions of decorative lights. What a total waste of energy. Why can't the eco fascists clamp down on this load of old shite? Anyway even if you put a minus sign in front of the £119,950, I wouldn't even live there for 5 minutes. Crikey, I've turned into a grumpy right-winger today. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=Burnthouse+Lane&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=ilSeems alright (other than the illegally parked car)

tim123
Meanwhile in my part of the SE, even in an area where it not safe to go without your gun you have to pay 150k http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-27340036.html?premiumA=true
Mancghirl
Fairly shitty council estate but by no means in the bottom 10 grimmest in Edinburgh.... http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-16252008.html Have just rented a flat in the New Town 'valued' at 650k for £1100pcm. Totally lush. Good times.

Quicken
Only 12 3 bed houses within a mile of my current postcode (North Oxford). Cheapest semi is £365k (reduced from £395k in Nov). http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-31718822.html For the same price, you can alternatively get this rather strange-looking end-of-terrace: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-31225979.html Most expensive is £965k: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-17754849.html Total lunacy. No way I can buy in this area. Expanding to look at the whole of Oxford, the cheapest one is £157k (down from £200k, and cash only with no internal pictures - must have problems!): http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-16678323.html Cheers, Q
PopGun
£105k However expand the radius a bit to "over the boundary" will get you a four bed semi ex council for £98k. Just wanted to expand to add that that these prices are in areas were the average gross wage is < £17,000! Some prices on this thread are shocking.... There must be a lot of foregin investment kicking about in the south. Edited January 17, 2011 by PopGun

That would be brill. I'd love to have done one for my old flat.... "We're moving out of this flat 'cos it's up 3 sets of ******ing stairs. The neighbours live here for about an average of 3 years. The basement stinks because the drains backfired. The flat's not as cold as you think it'd be. It has a nice view out the window. Make me an offer."... can you tell I did computer science?
