Father Closes His Eyes As Horrified Court Is Shown Video Of His Son Accidentally Shooting Himself In The Head With An Uzi Submachine Gun

A father was unable to watch as a Massachusetts jury was shown video of his eight-year-old son accidentally shooting himself in the head with an Uzi submachine gun.

Dr Charles Bizilj closed his eyes as the graphic video was shown, drawing a collective gasp of horror in the courtroom.

Her husband filmed the video at the fair at the Westfield Sportsman's Club. Former Pelham, Massachusetts, police chief Edward Fleury, whose company co-sponsored the fair, has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter and furnishing weapons to a minor.

Dr Bizili, an emergency room doctor, also took the stand today, describing his son's death slowly and tonelessly.

He said that he videotaped Christopher with the micro Uzi, which jammed several times. He said he started and stopped videotaping several times as the gun jammed.

At one point, he said he picked his camera up, looked toward the firing line and couldn't see Christopher.

'Chris was not in the viewfinder,' Dr Bizilj testified.

'Chris was on the ground. I ran over to him. His eyes were open. I saw no reason for him to be on the ground.

'I tried to talk to him. He didn't respond. I put my hand behind his head to pick him up. ... There was a large portion of his cranium missing.'

So the gun kept jamming as a responsible parent you just kept stopping and starting the filming, whilst your child "played" with an uzi.

Once more in modern society it's someone else's fault.

And he is an ER doctor in the US - so I assume he has seen his fair share of gun shot wounds.

******ing insane. 8 years old ?!

You have to be so careful when handling any live weapon. I just don't think most 8 year olds have the attention span to do that. Many adults do not either.

You can't have sex when you are 16 but you can have a machine gun when you are 8. Americans are mental.

I think that is the understatement of the century.

When I was there we went with some bloke we worked with to a shooting range. Being tourists we went for the biggest gun they had - the Dirty Harry Magnum and also a few other hand guns. The bloke used to be in the navy and also had M-16 etc.. he had 'borrowed' when leaving - so couldn't take it to the indoor range. Had a pump action shotgun too that he took.

For me to get a Magnum all I needed was my drivers licence and to tick a few boxes then sign. That was it. Fully loaded and ready to go.

Now being a shooting range I couldn't have got too far if I decided to go on a rampage. Someone would have taken me out. However I could have killed 5-6 people easy before getting done in.

Although playing devils advocate - I suppose you could say the same about cars too. They are just as deadly in the wrong hands.

Half the world is mental. Women cant go out alone in some bits of the muslim world unless they are 'escorted', maybe even by an 8 year old.

Anyway, america has a higher teen pregnancy rate than even here, so i guess 'cant' have sex is probably stretching it a bit. Probably like here, you can have children when your 16, but you'll have to wait till youre 18 until the taxpayer starts lavishing freebies onto you. Until then, your parents will have to claim on your behalf. Oh the hardship.

I have come to the conclusion that the Universe sends all the whackos to Earth. Some of us get sorted out and are allowed to return home. The rest keep coming back.

Family day out?

I've got 2 who are nearly 8, I dread to think what would happen if I let mine loose with an Uzi they'd be shooting it everywhere.

Well if you really want to find out just go to the US and conduct a real life experiment.

Lunatics.

(for some reason the quote thing isn't working properly in this post?!?)

My dad taught me to shoot pistols from 7 and rifles from 8. He taught me properly so I have tremendous respect for and care with firearms.

I would assume that he stopped recording to go and clear the stoppage so that the uzi would continue firing.

Still, he has responsibilty for letting his kid fire one so young.

Doesnt matter a fk what the courts say though, sending him down wont make the pain or guilt any worse.

You wouldn't believe how many american kids get killed each year by quad bikes, jetskis and other horribly dangerous white trash toys.
