Writer of the great Baker Street - a song that so perfectly captured 1970s London (and still does?). Of course, he wrote many other fantastic songs too. A seriously talented man bent on self-destruction. I wonder if Billy ever tried to help (or his wife the psychotherapist)? Larkin's lines as true as ever I fear. Definitely a soundtrack that I grew up with and I always remembered that song while driving out of London and along Baker Street on my way to the M1 and the north.
