Gerry Rafferty Is Dead

Recommended Posts

Very sad to hear that Gerry Rafferty passed away yesterday. Writer of the great Baker Street - a song that so perfectly captured 1970s London (and still does?).

Of course, he wrote many other fantastic songs too.

RIP Gerry and thanks for the music.

Her Father Didn't Like Me, Stuck in the Middle, Night Owl, Down the Line .... classic and sensitive songs and one great voice . A seriously talented man bent on self-destruction.

I wonder if Billy ever tried to help (or his wife the psychotherapist)?

Larkin's lines as true as ever I fear.

A tragic genius. Definitely a soundtrack that I grew up with and I always remembered that song while driving out of London and along Baker Street on my way to the M1 and the north.

RIP Gerry
