Halifax Report....

Recommended Posts

http://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/business/average_house_price_in_northamptonshire_rose_75_a_week_over_the_last_year_1_2219430

"THE average house price in Northamptonshire rose £75 a week over the last year, new figures published today show."

Where are these figures ? Anyone know what they are talking about ?

"A report from the Halifax building society "

I thought the halifax was a bank ?

"The report shows the average price went up two per cent in the last 12 months and has risen three per cent over the past five years."

So, not gone up much really and well down based on inflation, better of renting really.

"“However, I do believe a recovery is just around the corner.” "...based on what...hope or maybe massive cut backs, euro zone collapse, interest rate rises ?

"Experts said the year on year rise in house prices in Northamptonshire was better than expected"...not actually experts then, guess-perts perhaps.

And lastly, some sensible words:

"Catherine Penman, national head of research for estate agents Carter Jonas, based in Northampton, said: “It’s quite a good time to be a buyer. There are deals to be done if you put in reasonable offer. It’s not bad news for everyone.”"

i.e. prices are tumbling and no one is selling. drop your price now before it's too late.

Like many of the articles from the local council...comments are not allowed.
