The Twelve Days Of House Price Christmas

Recommended Posts

A Christmas Carol for all you HPCers. I've tried to keep it as true to the original as possible, but obviously have taken the opportunity to use a fair dollop of artistic licence into the bargain, enjoy...

On the first day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

A gold price fair and free!

On the second day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

On the third day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Three-figure inflation,

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

On the fourth day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Four sovereign defaults,

Three figure inflation,

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

On the fifth day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Five gold sov'reigns!!!!!

Four sovereign defaults,

Three figure inflation,

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

On the sixth day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Six stock markets sufferin'-a-slaying,

Five gold sov'reigns,

Four sovereign defaults,

Three figure inflation,

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

On the seventh day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Seven Trillion sterlings sinking,

Six stock markets sufferin'-a-slaying,

Five gold sov'reigns,

Four sovereign defaults,

Three figure inflation,

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

On the eighth day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Eight thousand estate agents closing,

Seven Trillion sterlings sinking,

Six stock markets sufferin'-a-slaying,

Five gold sov'reigns,

Four sovereign defaults,

Three figure inflation,

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

On the ninth day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Nine Eurozone members death-dancing,

Eight thousand estate agents closing,

Seven Trillion sterlings sinking,

Six stock markets sufferin'-a-slaying,

Five gold sov'reigns,

Four sovereign defaults,

Three figure inflation,

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

On the tenth day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Ten thousand landlords a leaping (off something tall!),

Nine Eurozone members death-dancing,

Eight thousand estate agents closing,

Seven Trillion sterlings sinking,

Six stock markets sufferin'-a-slaying,

Five gold sov'reigns,

Four sovereign defaults,

Three figure inflation,

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

On the eleventh day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Eleven nations rioting,

Ten thousand landlords a leaping (off something tall!),

Nine Eurozone members death-dancing,

Eight thousand estate agents closing,

Seven Trillion sterlings sinking,

Six stock markets sufferin'-a-slaying,

Five gold sov'reigns,

Four sovereign defaults,

Three figure inflation,

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

On the twelfth day of Christmas,

my true love sent to me

Twelve trillion dollars dying,

Eleven nations rioting,

Ten thousand landlords a leaping (off something tall!),

Nine Eurozone members death-dancing,

Eight thousand estate agents closing,

Seven Trillion sterlings sinking,

Six stock markets sufferin'-a-slaying,

Five gold sov'reigns!!!!!

Four sovereign defaults,

Three figure inflation,

Too high-house prices crashed,

And a gold price fair and free!

Very catchy. Not sure about the Gold price fair and free but we'll probably get most of the others if not all

If I get even a quarter of my Xmas Wish List sometime in the coming year, it should do the trick nicely! :D

A mortgage with a low LTV?

Not necessary, the prices have been completely crashed on Day 2, making Day 2 the beginning of the next up leg of the cycle.

You'll want high LTV mortgages so once you've picked up your bargain home on Day 2, you can watch as new entrants start to bid the price up again using high LTV mortgages, thereby increasing your pension pot for free ;) If I'm being cynical that is.

Does rhyme well though, I'll give you that!
