Housing - How Some Landlords Get By

Recommended Posts

Apologies for the DM link.

Manchester-based M&Q Properties Limited, which won a Home Office contract to house 5,400 asylum seekers, received £36 million from 2005 to 2006, but its contract was not renewed in January 2008.

According to the papers, M&Q director Mohammed Munif admitted paying his staff with £30,000 of vouchers and also using them to buy fuel.

The legal papers state Mr Munif was also asked to explain ‘substantial directors’ loans’ of about £4.15 million to himself and £3.3 million to another director.

Speaking at his £400,000 five-bedroomed house in an upmarket area of Manchester, outside which was parked a 7 series BMW with the personalised number plate MUN 1F, Mr Munif said he had ‘no comment’ to make.

M&Q’s solicitors also declined to comment.
