The Perfect Dance Track

Recommended Posts

Is it the Pet Shop Boys' "New York City Boy"?

Funny you should mention that, I was thinking that they ripped off Gino big time.

Listen to where chorus says " forever " on Gino Soccio - Remember (Atlantic Records 1982) ... Let alone the beat

Poor Gino..

Gino Soccio was the one-man-band behind countless disco gems—until he vanished “I built a wall between me and the media. After twenty-five years, you run out of shit to say,” Soccio tells Wax Poetics. http://waxpoetics.com/features/articles/invisible-man/

Bedrock - For What You Dream Of (Full On Renaissance Mix)

I'd put that in the top 40 best of the thread. It's such a classic.

And a perfect lesson in how to build a track with multiple "drops" keeping you waiting for each one.

@ 05:47 - it's a masterpiece.

I only have that on the Trainspotting CD and it isn't the full version.

Must order the 12".

Going through the vinyl last night I pulled out some things I hadn't heard in ages and came across this.

Seems to be quite rare, I have a white-label copy pressed on one side only with a sticker on the sleeve 'Picotto/Camisra'

Someone else appears to have a copy too - it's on YouTube. Mash-up of some top tunes.

Shazam thinks it's "Let it Show - Be My Lizard".

Loving this at the moment. It's still in that happy place before it gets ruined by overexposure. As soon as I hear it coming out of a tuned up Corsa then it's canned for good.

Seem to think I have the CD maxi single as well as the trainspotting CD.

Excellent track.

I'm sure everyone has heard this by now.

Never rated anything he's done before. But this is the nuts of a disco track. Credit where credit is due. I think this one is going to endure.

...still really like this...before Chicane went and did some horrible Mel C / Bryan Adams hybrid thing...

We won't talk about those ;) The original of "Offshore" was decent.

Think I posted this before. One of (IMHO) the all-time greats.

I'm posting this one because it has something I've never seen before. You can rotate the video through 360 degrees (on a desktop).

That, and it's a cheesy, funky disco track. Ok, it's just a little like Kylie's "Love at First Sight"..

The singer dances just like me. I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Lo adoro!
