Cantona Bank Run

Recommended Posts

Eric Cantona was calling for people to withdraw their savings from banks today (if you didn't already know) in order to bust them.

Seems that his call failed to rally enough people to "break the banks" but I transferred a largeish sum out of Barclays and into NS&I as an alternative to carrying around a stupidly muggable amount of cash. Did anyone else bother ?

For a long time now I have my money spread out over different banks, different currencies and in different countries. I know one day one of them will go wrong. I do not like holding cash, as I am also convinced that one day governments will call-in all the cash making Cantona's efforts useless.

Good to see you put your money where your mouth is. If it's not too impertinent a question, can I ask where you moved your money to, or otherwise disposed of it ? You can PM me if you'd rather not have those details online.
