Royal Mint & Silver Brit's

Recommended Posts

I get 21 Silver Brits each year ... plan to give them to my daughter on her 21st B'day.. 21 for each year she's been on earth (Should I last that long)

Got a flyer from Royal mint mid November 2011 1oz silver brits at £25 a piece! Well over spot..but hey, I've been doing it for 6 years!

Just logged into their website not 2 weeks later..... Now £30 each..that's before the VAT HIKE!... Demand must be good!

£25 was a good price a few weeks ago, it included the VAT and postage, the Royal Mints retail prices can lag a bit and thus become advantageous. The price went up because of the rising price of silver. I would recommend either buying in bulk from the Royal Mint from the B2B dept or buying from Baird & Co.

They have risen steeply. Weighton was doing x10 for £238 two weeks ago. Now up to £28.95 a piece or £565 for 20 at the moment. I make that about £600 for 21 when the usual £6-ish postage is added - about £30 cheaper than the mint or Coin Invest Direct.
