Shroud
Something I don't understand. What 'deals' were they in such a hurry to get as to risk injuring other people for. would be understandable if it was a rush for half price tinned beans. Pole
Hieronymus Bosch got it pretty spot on. +1 the sad thing is that the government says that's the only model to achieve 'growth'

darwin
It's simply par for the course, I'm afraid. 2 years ago, a Wal-Mart store worker got trampled to death by 200 rabid consumers who stormed the store, lusting for discounted dumb sh!t to buy. Wal-Mart was fined $7000 over the incident. Also, that same day, 2 people got shot in a Toys R Us store, after getting into an argument. People are just beyond ugly, sometimes. Fawkandles
Fascinating and disturbing. Very un-British! Just get in a queue! (I am guilty of such things pouncing on ticket sales online etc, but would never dive through a door and trample people etc)

Britney's Piers
Fascinating and disturbing. Very un-British! Just get in a queue! Oh, it's happened here as well. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4252421.stm Crush chaos at Ikea store openingSeveral people were hurt in the crush as thousands flocked to the midnight opening of Ikea's newest store. The store in Edmonton, north London, stayed open for just 30 minutes because of safety fears and five people had to be taken to hospital for treatment. "People became agitated and eventually they started trying to charge the doors."Patricia Ming said when the doors opened one woman "pushed her way forward screaming with excitement" then the crowd rushed in through the doors. "The doors remained opened for at least 15 minutes while crowds barged through the doors and the security guards just stood out the way as otherwise they would have been trampled," she said.
