An Incentive To Breed..

Howard Flight told the Evening Standard: "We're going to have a system where the middle classes are discouraged from breeding because it's jolly expensive but for those on benefit there is every incentive.

"Well that's not very sensible."

Flight was blaming the Lib Dems for forcing David Cameron to agree to bad policies, including cutting child benefit for high earners.

Downing Street has disowned the remarks.

A spokesman said: "He is not a member of the Government, he does not speak on behalf of the Government.

"We do not agree with what he said."

It was announced last week that former MP Flight would become a member of the House of Lords.

In 2005, the new peer was forced to resign as deputy chairman of the Conservatives after he was recorded saying the party would cut spending more than it had pledged publicly in the run-up to that year’s election campaign.

The then party leader Michael Howard said: "What I can't have is someone misrepresenting my view, misrepresenting what we do in government and suggesting that we say one thing in private and another thing in public."

Tweeting today, Labour's Douglas Alexander said the Tories "didn't get it".

"Shameful but revealing comments from Howard Flight cast doubt on David Cameron's judgement in choosing him for the Lords," he wrote.

Labour SCUM (as I now call them) have been following a policy of breeding idiots dependent on the state since for many years.

If you don't realise this, then you might be a part of their eugenics program.

I hate Labour, but do you seriously believe this wasn't already a problem pre 1997?!?

Pre 97 they could have done manual jobs like plumbing that eastern europeans now do and on that wage bought a nice house at pre-97 prices - even though they are stupid they wouldnt be a burden

Post 97 despite having an average IQ of 48 they will spend most of their lifes in fruitless Nulab educayshun programmes trying in futility to extract a modicum of non existent intelligence out of them.

Always have been dumb people, always will be dumb people. Difference is, pre 1997 the market would have found a dumb job for them. Now the dumb job is done by chinese dummies or imported eurobrat dummies.

That being said, i know a quack (not dumb) who dropped many hundreds of thousands of Ks onto an inner city flat BTL, effectively subsidies by the taxpayers. Many bankers are also not dumb, just evil, also subsidised. So i guess ideally we should stop banksters breeding too.

Menial jobs or futile education - it matters not to them - they all vote the same way at the ballot box and their number ever increaseth.

Anyone who seriously thinks that cutting child benefits to well-off people is going to mean they have less children is clearly not worth taking any notice of!

Always have been dumb people, always will be dumb people.
I'm middle class and I can tell you there are plenty of dumb people in the middle and upper classes as well as working-class. The difference is that dumb middle-class or upper-class people usually get found a 'niche' that provides a veneer of success. Edited by blankster

just like the catholics & other religions dependant on the church in ye olde times....

The catholic church (and others) model was quite simple, and requires only three variables for success:

Fear

Ignorance

Poverty.

A policy that's still working wonders in Africa today.

Interestingly, Socialists also rely on Fear, Ignorance and Poverty.

For casino capitalism, replace fear with greed.

Yup

The real mystery, is how intelligent, free thinking people continue to exist at all? When I look back through my ancestors, I suppose I find people who generally keep their heads down. A notable lack of religious types. Maternal gparents were Labour (shuuder - one day I will find that part of me and excise it) - Mam ran off and married a Tory boy partly out of rebellion I think - maybe thats answered my own question - eventually they become boring, illogical zealots of such a high order that their own offspring act to improve their own genetic progeny.

They pretend to be stupid to blend in, but get found when others realise they're the only ones without 5 or more precious little accidents.

Are the people on benefits with 7 children raking n £26k PA+ in a large house really that stupid.

I'd say not necessarily. Some will be yes but some have gamed the system.

I want to work and earn enough to have children. I get no tax breaks for doing so, just an extra mouth to feed and most likely more taxes to pay.

I don't really want to work for the sake of work, although I'd quite like to do a job I enjoy.

At the end of the day I want to have kids and retire.

I have to do the maths (bit of an analytical get, you see), before I do the *ahem*.

Being unemployed I'm in a good position to start a family, if I was working I'd most likely not be.

The fault lies within the system, not natural human desire.

What we need is a system where by having a kid you get some benefits (safety net for the poor), but you also get a tax break (more generous than the benefit - as to provide a safety net to the working poor and to incentivise work).

Have a kid, get your child benefit. Have a kid, get a higher tax free allowance. Say 50% of the £6475 we currently have added on per child.

[Note to self - 4 letter abbreviation of analytical comes up as 8 *s]

I thought that Labour had ceased to have any policies as such when Tony Blair became PM. Certainly Gordon Brown just 'did things', many of which were disastrous.
