West Cornwall - Nothing New On The Market For A While

It strikes me that all these crappy bungalows with their dated styling are being sold by oldies wanting to downsize. Problem is who actually wants them? The 50/60 somethings around at the moment seem a little more discerning.

I doubt anyone younger with a £500k budget for a house is going to be very impressed either.

I agree - there are probate sales and the sale of holiday homes to fund retirement. Some of the prices are just comic.

Inbetween all this dross there are some decent places, oh I'll enjoy being a cash buyer next spring.

A 'quintessential Cornish Cottage' is how it's described, yet all I see is a wood clad oddity.

As for the photos. My 5 year old take better photos than this and is probably savvy enough to leave out the shot with the condensation all over the window. The rest of them seem a pretty odd mix that are not very informative about what this place is like at all. EA must be a halfwit

I can see some pictures of the garden shed, but I can't seem to find any of the actual house.

They're not giving much away there Simon! I know where that is so nice view as shown but it's carved out of the hillside so the rooms will be small and won't be anything in the way of garden or much parking. Very over-priced but if £200k that woudl be a nice quiet place to live with a sea view, short walk to the beach, and not far off the A30.

That wouldn't be my choice of decor either! But then again I rarely change anything after I've got used to it.

Tell you what - I'm seeing lots of price reductions in my Cornwall / Bungalow / 300-600k search on Rightmove :)

Will be over in spring with a big wad of fivers etc.

I was going to post something along these very lines myself.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/new-homes/property-34989311.html £800k - £700k

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-28312435.html £425k - £350k

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-19483986.html?premiumA=true £485k - £440k

And here's the real shocker:

A 4 bedroom house in Mousehole for well under £400k!

With this two bed flat, apart from the delights of living on Chapel Street next to the Admiral Benbow, you have to cough up £1800 for annual service charges.....note a lift was installed......thats more expensive than some Central London mansion blocks.....

So if you didn't feel enough of an idiot for paying £240k for that you'd get an unpleasant reminder to the sum of £1800 every year!

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Miller Countryside - take 'em out and shoot them!

Shome mishtake shurely?

Even at current asking prices that should be around £300k tops, but £415k to live in a bungalow the bleak hinterland of Bodmin? I note there is no external picture.

Plus the decor on all these overpriced bungalows is only fit for the over 70s - but I don't see refurbishment priced in.

And agreed, for that money you'd expect prime coastal location not the **** end of beyond!

If it's any consolation I'd imagine the owners (if not already) will be long deceased before they get an offer

Looking like it could be crashy crashy time:

£425k to £350k http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-28279192.html

£395 to £350k http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-16817733.html

£440k - £400k http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-20761122.html

Also, for the first time in recent memory there is a second page in my property search on RM.

Obviously this is all happening as I have decided to stay put for a while and just got the builders in!

Spot the deliberate / accidental mistake: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32341963.html?utm_content=ealertspropertyimage&utm_medium=email&utm_source=emailupdates&utm_campaign=emailupdatesjun11&utm_term=buying&sc_id=5797254

Anyone see it? Is this the same house in photos 1 and 3?
