Cameron Talking About Housing On Sky News Now..

On R4 this morning they had an OAP in 3 bed property only getting the payment for a 1 bed place ... and subbing the extra £30 a week from her pension...

Hows this different from someone working having to pay all the rent themself?

Its different because the OAP is getting all of the money paid to them as a result of someone else's hard work, and the working person is getting no help. plus having to pay tax to support so many others, including that dear old OAP.

So our taxes are stopping the market from allocating a 3 bed home to someone who could really use it, and instead are subsidising a 'blocker', who cant afford the 3 bed home but is able to occupy it anyone. Nothing f******d up here that I can see.

In my experience, having a three bed house when you are living on your own is no better at all than having a one bed house. There are just two extra rooms that you never go into.

Depends. Any rooms I have spare quickly fill up with stuff.

A 4 bedroom english house is probably the same size as a 2 bedroom continental or american house...some of their 'closets' are bigger than our single bedrooms/box rooms.

Probably true for most people and so they end up thinking they need all that extra room. Room size is of course an issue when it comes to having reasonable storage space, but in reality we have to question whether someones storage of posessions bought over their lifetime have as much priority as people who just need a room to sleep in.
