Rent In Belfast

Good to get some anecdotal evidence of what is happening.

I understand it's a sample of 1, but it's the same house at the same price, and still includes rates.

The house we rented afterwards in Sheffield was the same price (plus, of course, the council tax and water - another £150/mo). This one was not nearly as good, although the are was somewhat better - one of the last middle-class areas in the city not yet upgraded to Western Pakistan. So I'd say, Belfast is still a renter's bargain :)

People do say that the rents in Belfast are cheaper than other places.

Im stuggling to understand your point Sogy - Of course you money wont go as far is Sheffield as in Belfast because there is more of an idustry there than in Belfast. your only an hour away from manchester!

Rent in Belfast is cheaper than the rest of the UK but still too expensive for a country that relies heavily on public sector jobs and has no industry!

I don't think there is a link between public sector jobs and levels of rent. The public sector, on average pay higher pay than the private sector.

I can understand the link between average rent and average income, but not the make-up of that income.
