Banks Let You Off When It's Their Mistake?

Many Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank mortgage holders have reported getting payment demands written off after a computer error meant 18,000 were undercharged for up to two years.

Are Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank independents or is this taxpayers funding it?

I recall Clydesdale's name in a bailout manoeuvre. Can't offer any help for Yorkshire.

There was a financial ombudsman test case about this, and financial ombudsman ordered the bank to write off the amount of underpayment.
