Thanks Scott. That was truly edutaining.

Erica Goldman's graduation speech was amazing. Such great insight at such a young age.

We are more than robotic bookshelves, conditioned to blurt out facts we were taught in school. We are all very special, every human on this planet is so special, so aren't we all deserving of something better, of using our minds for innovation, rather than memorization, for creativity, rather than futile activity, for rumination rather than stagnation? We are not here to get a degree, to then get a job, so we can consume industry-approved placation after placation.

Interesting that some Americans have noticed deficiencies in their state school curricula and are seeking a classical education:

I've only recently discovered the theories of critical thinking (i.e. the 42 fallacies) after an extensive English education (to masters degree level).

Amused by the Dunning-Kruger effect; do you think you're stoopid or are you really stoopid?

The unskilled...suffer from illusory superiority, rating their own ability as above average, much higher than it actually is, while the highly skilled underrate their abilities, suffering from illusory inferiority. This leads to the situation in which less competent people rate their own ability higher than more competent people.

(Didn't mean you Scott. Don't take it personally)

What a tired old load of cods wollup that was. Listen to us and have an epiphany. I didn't hear anything new. All I heard was a preacher man giving his sermon. Free your mind they say. The only thing this lot want is to replace one set of programming with another of their choosing.
