Bovis Sales Slump

Hasn't anyone picked this up?

Earlier this year, chief executive Malcolm Harris warned reservations in the first half were down 3% and that, unless they picked up, Bovis would not hit growth forecasts.

Bovis down 30%

From the above quote you can probably tell they are struggling to sell their house. But (!) they still pump up their dividend by 30%

Collapse in sales of upmarket homes hits housebuilder Bovis (The Independent)

Bovis Homes, a leading housebuilder, saw its profits drop by one-third in the first half of this year after the flow of buyers for larger properties dried up.

The volume of sales of four and five-bedroom homes has plummeted. Malcolm Harris, the company's chief executive said "We have plenty of interest in buying [larger properties] but buyers cannot sell their own properties. It is a problem of them being unrealistic [about selling prices]," he said......

mmm...seems like childs play. im hearing a lot today from the members of the public i challenge, about 'unrealistic asking prices'

i think the penny has dropped with the more savvy british public.

the sheep will follow them. could end in a stampede.

Nothing to do with you being unrealistic about your selling prices then,Malcolm?

Ditto, price of a product has doubled/tripled and the provider can't see any problem with their own pricing. Laughable. I wonder if Malcolm has ever heard of the phrase of pricing yourself out of a market, seems not.
