Nihe Selling Off Flats

Recommended Posts

Probably don't meet latest human rights standards or something.

Why not sell off your assets when times are hard? Much easier to pay out more money slowly to private landlords than invest in redevelopment.

Maybe this is where they'll ship all the HB refugees from London...

Yeah. Rubbish.

So 200,000 HB recipients are going to be expelled from London since they can't pay the rent of more than £400 a week? Their houses are going to be vacated and up for rent again. Now, what are the chances of asking rent being dropped to, say, £400 per week? Result - very little, except Mr. BTL takes a hit, the treasury saves a fortune, and overall rents go down. Bring it on.

and these 200,000 people move to an area where the rent is under £400 a week (most of the rest of the country) and what will this extra demand do for rents in these areas?

Shouldn't effect NI

They won't be going anywhere. The only thing moving will be the rents. Down.
