Yes.

michael meacher

Four residential properties in London from which rental income is received.

As a labour MP he should be ashamed of himself.

Should we ask theyworkforyou to run us a search through their database. We could then list by constituency and start something of a campaign. I would suggest that we need to make buy to let as socially acceptable as loan sharking or pimping. Useful to some but too exploitative to be polite.

Anyone with a bit of time (not me) should go through the whole list of 650 odd of them and record exactly what property they own/let out.

Collate the information and publish it on the web at housingbubblevestedinterests.com... Can some dream up a better URL?

Bring the collated information to the attention of the press the Daily Mail would be a good start and sit back whilst the penny drops all over the Country.

Once that list is complete then information can be collated about journalists and broadcasters although be definition it will be harder to get hold of.

Good idea.

Get them to do that for you and post the results on here detailing each MP in a list.

Michael Fabricant (Con) Lichfield. Been our MP as long as i can remember. Well respected and clean on expenses. Seems to actually put some effort in.

8. Land and Property

House in Maine, USA, lived in by friends who maintain the property but do not pay rent.

Hello all. Long time reader on these forums, first time poster. . . . . . saw this thread and thought this might be of interest to you all.! :)

http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm/cmregmem/memi02.htm (part 2 especially interesting as it shows that they ALL employ family members for one thing or another)

It lists all the money that our MP's make from being chairs for companys etc, to rental income made from homes.

For example, vince cable gets near 5k a month from the daily mail :o

They all got their hand in one pie or another.

Here's one of my favorites. :o

CLAPPISON, James (Hertsmere)

2. Remunerated employment, office, profession etc.

Member of Lloyd's. (Resigned 31 December 1994.)

Categories of business underwritten for open years: All.

8. Land and Property

27 acres of farmland, and a cricket pitch let out on a peppercorn rent, in Patrington, East

Yorkshire, from which rental income is received.

25 rented houses in East Yorkshire, five of which are registered in joint name with my wife.

11. Miscellaneous

Barrister, not undertaking work.

25 properties, 27 acres of farmland and a cricket club...............ALL rented out!!

He also had his fair share of expenses too.

If the houses were in only his wife's name would he not have to include them in the register?

Makes you wonder how many actually are in just his wifes name, bought with his over inflated wages and expenses, and adding to his already considerable VI in high rents and prices.

There are ambiguities and judgment calls to be made (see for example my post earlier in this thread). Invite input from all and sundry and you'll get inconsistencies.
