Sounds Like A Cop Out....

Recommended Posts

Just listening to the budget cut on BBC world news.

All sounds like a total cop out,...more announcements of spending than cuts,

It wont work.

First line should have been.....MPs will take a 30% pay cut...2nd line shoiuld have been been 80% tax on all banks profits,...3rd line should have been no cash benefits...soup kitchens.

Budget deficit aint going anywhere but up.

I dont want to hold my head up to the poorest people in the world....if you owe4 trillion...you are the poorest people....albeit 'in waiting'

Several cops out from what I read. And a few squaddies and the fly boys. Flog off the uniforms on ebay.

If you don't return kit you get billed for it.

For a while this even applied to squaddies who drpped kit when they were killed or maimed in combat, though I think the UK gov no longer changes for this, where-as the US still does.

Famously, one US widdow instead of a death benefits cheque received a bill for the rather pricey (overpriced in fact) night vision goggles her husband was wearing when he was blown to bits... his pals were too busy trying to get him to a medic to pick them up, so they billed her for them.

I agree with points 1 & 2, but why 3?

Why are so many on here so keen on reducing people to the level of the gutter? Unemployment after all, might happen to anybody, including you.

This is a budget for bankers, to keep interest rates low in order to enable them to finance their gambling in the derivatives casino at low cost, and to pick up property - commercial and domestic - at a fraction of the price when borrowers default.

1929Crash - I wouldn't want to see benefits cut for your average Joe, but some people just take the mick.

There are people my age in my town that have NEVER worked. They shouldn't get a penny. Not even a mug of soup.

You should only be entitled to as much in benefits as you have put into the system. Obviously people with disabilities are entitled to what they need. (except for the bad back/ashtma brigade who should get nothing)

Unemployment could happen to anyone, its true. What people are against is when unemployment is a life choice.

I guess that must make me a banker, as that's exactly what I want and have been waiting for for years.
