Sign Of The Times

Recommended Posts

I saw an elderly man today, armed with Mr Muscle spray and a cloth, buffing up the FOR SALE sign outside his house.

His anxious wife stood at the window, with a "Help must come.." look on her old face.

... Minutes later he called the estate agent and increased the asking price by £5,000.

:lol::lol::lol:

Have to say there are two SOLD signs within a mile of me that have been up for so long I am beginning to wonder if they going to stay there for ages.

One of the new owners asked me last week whether he had paid the right price for his house - paid the full asking price the silly sod which just queers it for the rest of us. I told him I would have paid 10K less than him as a maximum. He has not spoken to me since.

I know. Sad, isn't it?

Last week I spoke with an elderly lady who was so angry that her left eye kept twitching. She was not pleasant company. The bank wanted a charge on her property for a credit card debt. She said it was ridiculous: "Because they got a judgment against me I can't borrow against my equity to repay the debt. My father left me these houses, they're my pension, and I want to leave them to my grandchildren." I explained that a charge is pretty much the same thing as a second mortgage, and she said, "But people will know."

Pfff. Greed and vanity do not improve with age.

Tell them you can sell them a sign twice the size for £100, just in case passing buyers can't see it. :lol:
